Scott And Carol Present - Six Flags Atlanta Properties President Melinda Ashcroft Retires.

After an incredible 45 year career with Six Flags, the park announced the retirement of its president, Melinda Ashcraft. Melinda has served as park president at Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags White Water since January 2004 and during that time the park has prospered.

Her remarkable journey with Six Flags began at Six Flags Over Georgia, where she worked as a ride operator the year the park opened. Melinda rose through the ranks, holding a number of managerial positions at parks in St. Louis, Mo.; Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.; Valencia, Calif.; Louisville, Ky.; and San Antonio, Texas.

In January of this year, Ms. Ashcraft became the fifth recipient of the prestigious Six Flags Angus G. Wynne lifetime achievement award in honor of her numerous organizational and community achievements.

Succeeding Ms. Ashcroft will be industry veteran Dale Kaetzel, who most recently served as park president at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California.

We first worked with Melinda at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and our visits to Six Flags Over Georgia won't be the same without her. As an industry veteran, she left improved parks in her wake as she sailed through the treacherous waters of the regional amusement park industry. Always willing to take one more ride during events, her expertise and stories will be greatly missed going forward.

Melinda, enjoy an active retirement, and thanks for all the smiles you gave to many people over all the years during your career with Six Flags Theme Parks.
