Big Dipper To Be Demolished

Geauga Lake's Big Dipper will soon be demolished, according to this article from the Aurora Advocate. The classic roller coaster was recently for sale on EBay, but it did not receive any bids during the auction.

Aurora Advocate reports that the ride's owner plans to demolish the coaster since "the deadline for the sale of the Big Dipper cannot be met." The Big Dipper opened at Geauga Lake in 1925, and was designed by John Miller. Only a handful of John Miller designed wooden coasters are still operating in the country. The ride last operated in 2007, when Geauga Lake was permanently closed.
