Watch Out for Iron Shark's Bite

Looking good, Iron Shark!  Galveston, Texas' new amusement pier, aptly named the Galveston Pleasure Pier, has been making quick work on building Iron Shark, a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter.  We've checked out progress photos of the ride here on NPN just recently, but with the impressive twistyness that the ride is now showing off, I figured it was fair to feature it again.

The custom designed ride features a 100 foot tall lift hill that is immediately followed by a beyond vertical first drop.  Four inversions follow the drop in quick succession, including an Immelman and Dive Loop.  The super-compact coaster will reach speeds of 52 miles per hour and give riders a one minute ride they're sure to remember.

Galveston Pleasure Pier is aiming for a Memorial Day 2012 grand opening.
