Thailand's Largest Water Park Set To Break Ground
WhiteWater West Industries has announced that it has been named the lead designer and supplier of Amazon falls, a large new water park in Thailand. In total, the new park will feature in excess of twenty unique rides and attractions - ranking it was one of Asia's largest water parks.
Amazon Falls, set to open in December, 2010, will be located in Pattaya, which is a popular tourist area of Thailand. WhiteWater will provide conceptual planning and engineering, and will also provide seventeen of the park's attractions.
The amount of WhiteWater West attractions being built is staggering: there will be a Boomerango, SuperBowl, Inner-tube slide complex, three raft rides (Abyss, Python, and Rattler), Family Boomerango, dueling Master Blasters, Whizzard multi-lane mat racer, FreeFall, AquaLoop, wave pool, wave river, RainFortress play structure, and Kid's Zone. Phew!
The CEO of Amazon Falls notes that “WhiteWater’s unmatched experience and creativity are vital to helping us realize our goal to the fullest potential, and their wide range of attractions are second to none when it comes to thrilling entertainment for the whole family. Sourcing so many unique, quality rides from a single supplier that truly understands how world-class water parks should work will help us bring our project to life as quickly and efficiently as possible.”
The water park really will be a showcase of all the amazing slides that WhiteWater is capable of providing. In total, three attractions will make their world debut at Amazon Falls when the park opens. The dueling Master Blaster slides are sure to be a hit as well. A similar pair opened last year at Wet 'n' Wild in Arizona, and have quickly become must ride attractions there.
“We’re very fortunate to work with Amazon Falls, a company with such grand vision and ambition,” says WhiteWater CEO Geoff Chutter. “It is truly inspiring to be a part of this project, and we look forward to opening day, when the people and tourists of Pattaya will be able to soak up the fun and entertainment of Asia’s newest most prestigious water park.”
