Another Look At The Texas Giant's New First Drop

Six Flags Over Texas has now completely tracked the new first drop of the Texas Giant. As these photos will show... it looks nothing short of amazing.

I remember when I first saw the angle of Superman at Darien Lake's first drop, how amazed I was. This feels extremely similar! The airtime on the new Texas Giant's first drop is going to be out of this world.

The coaster's new steel I-box coaster track is allowing the ride to now have an amazing 79 degree first drop. That makes me want to sit in the last seat of the train.

I don't have any personal photos to use to compare the old drop to this new one, but this wide angle shot from RCDB gives you an idea. The new drop is worlds away from the old one - in a good way, of course.

The infield area of the ride is also changing more and more as well. From this view you can get an idea of how the track will go, including that wonderful looking double-up after the first drop. Can't wait to see more as the work continues!

Must start planning a trip to Texas...
