What A Steal - Greezed Lightnin'

After Six Flags AstroWorld closed, Joyland Amusement Park, Lubbock, TX, purchased the Greezed Lightnin' coaster for the park. Sadly, they soon discovered that problems with the water table under the park would make building the ride cost far more than they were able to take on. The ride was delayed, and it was hoped a solution could be found for the ride to eventually open at the park.

Well, it looks like that quest is now over. The park has listed the coaster for sale for $399,000 - really a steal for such a classic ride. It's a Schwarzkopf flywheel launch shuttle coaster, one of only a handful still operating in the world.

While it couldn't work at Joyland I hope another park picks this one up - Joyland even went as far as totally refurbishing the trains already. It's not the biggest or most modern ride, but it could still make a huge impact for a smaller park.

That is a steal really! Greezed Lightnin' @ SFKK has become one of my favorite rides to frequent when I have the chance. And this is coming from a guy who has Cedar Point, King's Island, Holiday World, and Kennywood all within 1-4 hours away. I'm really thinking about getting an SFKK pass while it's cheap, and one of the main reasons would be to get down to that coaster.
I never would've dreamed such a simple coaster would have such an impact on me...but it does. And same could be said for my daughter too...she loves GL!

See parks! This is a prime example of why someone should pick up this excellent ride!
