Wild Eagle Paying Off For Dollywood

© Dollywood
We all know that big new coasters can have a great effect at a park's gates, and such is exactly the case at Dollywood this year with the addition of Wild Eagle.

It is being reported that the park is seeing as much as a 15% increase in attendance this year, blasting past their estimated 5% increase, and that's mainly due to the new coaster.  That amount of visitors puts the park back on track with 2007, another big year when Mystery Mine was opened at Dollywood.

The investment in Wild Eagle was significant, but that's not unheard of at Dollywood.  The park reports that since 2004 a staggering $70 million has been invested in new rides and attraction.  It is no wonder that Dollywood remains one of many folks' favorite theme parks anywhere.

While Dollywood proper will be taking a bit of a breather next season, its adjacent Splash Country water park will not - they've already announced the addition of a four story, 1,200 foot long water coaster named River Rush.  If that won't draw further crowds, I don't know what will!

With plenty of developments to come, I can't wait to see what another ten years of expansions brings to the parks.
