Little Dipper Goin' Up!

© 2010 Six Flags Great America

Vertical construction has begun on the relocated Little Dipper roller coaster at Six Flags Great America! The park has posted these photos that show that several sections of the ride were already up as of a few days ago.

As you can see there's a lot of new wood on the ride, which isn't really a surprise. In fact, I am somewhat surprised the entire ride isn't brand new, but you can see the white boards that were from when it was at Kiddieland.

I still can't give enough credit to Mr. Shapiro for having the ride moved and saved. Hopefully saving old wooden coasters will be his new hobby!

Im actually surprised it wasnt fully replaced either. I saw a POV from a month before Kiddieland closed and it looked like it was ready to collapse.

It would have made alot more sense to just 100% replace the wood instead of 90%. Sooner or later no matter how maintained the old wood is, its going to rot and decay more then the others.
