Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters Now Twirling Visitors to Disney California Adventure

Disney California Adventure is gearing up to officially open Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters this Monday, but is already offering visitors to the theme park a spin on the new ride.  The attraction replaces Luigi's Flying Tires, which closed at the park in February of 2015.

The new attraction uses a trackless ride system (similar to that of Aquatopia at DisneySea in Tokyo) that allow the individual cars to move fluidly around the area, dancing as they go.

And yes, they're literally dancing.  The attraction's theme involves all of Luigi's family members arriving from Italy for a dance festival.  The cars each have their own name, personality and paint scheme and seat two passengers per cycle.  The ride cycle involves a large numbers of paths that the cars can take, with unique dance moves that make each ride different from the last.  Several different traditional up-beat Italian songs also create variety for return riders - one even sung by Luigi himself.

While the ride's technology is a first for a Disney park in the U.S., and is impressive to watch, the simple nature of the ride is what makes it look like such fun.  Combining the choreographed movements with great music is a fun way for families to twirl around together.
