Shoot The Rapids Photos

A kind reader of NPN sent me some photos to use from Cedar Point's opening day this past weekend. While Shoot the Rapids isn't open yet, there's plenty of new views of the ride to be seen from in the park.

Many thanks to Ryan, who holds the copyright on all the photos below.

Doesn't it look like the ride has been there for years already? I don't mean that in a bad way, it just seems to fit in really well in the park. I can only imagine how much nicer it will be when the landscaping grows in.

Well done! I really like how the final drop came out with the elaborate rock work, etc. The mist they have going is pretty intense, too!

Here's the entrance to the ride, where riders pass under a decorative water tower and cross the railroad tracks.

A huge observation deck was also created for the ride, and this is also where guests will launch the water cannons from. I'm sure that will be a very popular activity this summer. You can also see Snake River Falls' new paint job here, I think the darker color works very well in the area.

Paddlewheel Excursions provides plenty of views of Shoot The Rapids as well, such as this shot of the station that shows how it is located right on the water's edge.

Some new theming has been added behind the ride as well that can be seen while on Paddlewheel Excursions.

And finally, you get some great views of the ride when you go directly under it!

Thanks again to Ryan for sending the photos.
