SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment recently announced the formation of a new, in-house creative team that will pave the way for the future of the company's parks and attractions, named Deep Blue Creative.  Members of the team will "harness and drive innovation and creativity within the company," similar to Imagineerng within Disney and Universal Creative for the Universal theme parks.  Deep Blue Creative will focus on six major divisions that together will create fun and meaningful experiences for guests to all the SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment properties, including resorts and international projects.

The divisions include:

• Theme Park Development, U.S.A. encompasses two groups — Project Management and Guest Experiences — closely collaborating to inspire guests through innovative attractions, culinary experiences and retail environments.

• Theme Park Development, Global leads the development of all theme park growth initiatives beyond the company’s existing parks, including international expansion, exploration of new business models, feasibility and site evaluation.

• Resort Development is responsible for the business and creative development of resorts and hotels, unique hospitality experiences and land planning.

• Events and Entertainment supports all park entertainment teams in staging live experiences for theatrical settings, as well as culinary and retail environments.

• Media Enterprises leads the company’s film, television and music business, maximizing distribution opportunities for our brands.

• Expedition X is focused on prototype development for innovative project concepts and new technology. This group scans the horizon for emerging trends and inventive ways to bring guests experiences that explore both real and amazing worlds on land and sea.

SeaWorld Parks has already announced a major lineup of new attractions for 2017, many of which can be credited to the individuals within Deep Blue Creative.  These include Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster at Sea World San Antonio, Kraken VR at SeaWorld Orlando, and Electric Ocean at both SeaWorld Orlando and SeaWorld San Diego.

“The creation of our Deep Blue Creative team represents an evolution and a fresh, inventive approach to executing our mission of inspiring guests with experiences that matter,” said Anthony Esparza, Chief Creative Officer for SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. “Our global brands have a distinct zoological and conservation focus that isn’t replicated in the industry, and we aim to build on that unique advantage with immersive and interactive experiences for our guests.”

New updates on all the 2017 projects will be presented by Deep Blue Creative at the upcoming IAAPA Trade Show - we're looking forward to hearing more!
