Six Flags Fiesta Texas has concluded their teasing campaign for their new for 2022 ride, and today announced the addition of a B&M Dive Coaster named
Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger. The theme park has been toying with fans of the park for some time now, and had some wonderful misdirections along the way that made this specific ride addition a real surprise for us. There are a very limited number of B&M Dive Coasters in North America, so Cliffhanger will be a unique ride experience for the Six Flags Fiesta Texas market.

The ride will be located in the center of the park and utilize some previously open space along with room gained with the removal of one of the park's amphitheaters. The ride will have gray track with red running rails and accents, and the supports appear to be a yellow or orange with aging designs applied to give them a gritty feel.

Dr. Diabolicals Cliffhanger will stand 150 feet tall and utilize three, 21 passenger trains. That's right, the trains on this B&M Dive Coaster will be 7 across, a first for the manufacturer. After a turn at the top of the lift the trains will pause as is common on B&M Dive Coasters, then plummet down at 95 degrees - steeper than vertical and also a first for this style of B&M ride. The ride's top speed will be 60 miles per hour.
After the first drop passengers then encounter an Immelmann inversion, a 270 degree zero-g roll, a mid-course brake run and then a "near vertical" 75 foot plunge. The second half of the ride will finish with two high speed helices connected by a "extreme" airtime hill. The ride stretches a total length of 2,501 feet.

“Six Flags Fiesta Texas continues to push the limits of thrill and innovation as we prepare to introduce the world’s steepest dive coaster during our 30th anniversary season,” said Park President Jeffrey Siebert. “Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger joins an already stellar lineup of record-breaking roller coasters, rides, and attractions. With eight intense elements including dramatic inversions and extreme airtime, it will quickly become a fan favorite,” added Siebert.

The thrilling elements of the coaster will be complimented by a storyline that fits the attraction within the Crackaxle Canyon Screampunk District themed area. As visitors move through the ride's queue they will be "immersed in the story of Dr. Diabolical and her evil quest to create menacing creatures to frighten the world. To give her creations life, Dr. Diabolical constructed a machine to capture the essence of human adrenaline and fear. Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger features three 21-passenger trains that keep the adrenaline flowing as riders reach a height of 15 stories, then pause face-first before diving at 60 mph and flying through a variety of high-thrill experiences."

Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger will be the centerpiece of the park's
30th anniversary celebration, running the entire year of 2022. Packed with special events, visitors will find plenty of extras such as mini-museums celebrating the park's past, then and now displays, collectable button trading and more.
