Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom

Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom opened for the season yesterday. The water park also finally received a new website, you can see that here.

Now that they have up the map for just the water park it seems really ... small. A couple reports from yesterday's opening said that there were very, very few people at the park. I have no idea if it was cold, though, obviously water parks really depend on nice weather.

Were those lakeside pavilions there last year, or did they move a couple over from the Geauga side?

It also looks like they aren't running any dry attractions at all. No show in the stadium, no Mission Bermuda Triangle (or whatever it is they updated it to the last season) or Pirates 4d (in fact, it looks like they demolished the theater unless it's just not shown on the map). They really should have left up the play elements for kids. You're right, it does look very, very small.

The water park itself was never really that big at all. If all phases would have been completed as originally planned it would be something worth driving anywhere over 20 miles for. Also if I recall the "dry rides" were never intended to open this year =\. It's unfortunate really. I live in a suburb of Cleveland and already heard more commercials on the radio for Wildwater Kingdom this year than I have all previous years for Geauga Lake under Cedar Fair's management combined.Cedar Fair is just not the great company they use to be, simple as that.
