Six Flags Magic Mountain Announces Holiday In the Park for Winter 2014
The holidays just got a lot more cheerful at Six Flags Magic Mountain - the theme park has announced that the Holiday In The Park celebration will open for the first time on November 28th. The annual "holiday extravaganza" is already popular at several Six Flags parks, and will transform several sections of Six Flags Magic Mountain this coming winter.
“We are thrilled to bring this magical experience to our Six Flags Magic Mountain guests during the holidays," said Bonnie Rabjohn, park president. "We are creating a winter spectacular that will support our thrill brand and be uniquely Six Flags Magic Mountain, complete with over one million lights, holiday entertainment, carolers, and seasonal treats. Holiday in the Park will offer a special twist on favorite traditions that our guests will treasure for years to come."
The park released this colorful representation of how Holiday In The Park will look when it is open. Different sections of the theme park will have "time-honored and unique holiday themes." The presentations will both make new memories for children, but also cause adults to pause and reflect on happy holiday seasons gone by.
Among the areas transformed will be the Six Flags Plaza, which will feature hundreds of thousands of lights hung in the trees, on buildings and on rides and attractions. A one of a kind holiday tree, created from water and lights, will welcome guests as carolers sing everyone's favorite holiday songs. A new holiday show "featuring contemporary music and dancing" will take place on the Full Throttle stage.
The 'Winter Wonderland' Mining Town area of the park will be filled to the brim with holiday crafts and treats such as hot cider and holiday-inspired funnel cakes, and a traditional Santa Claus visiting area will be installed. The DC Universe area will be home to a programmed light show set to popular tunes, and utilize tens of thousands of lights with millions of potential lighting variations.
Holiday In The Park will run from November 28th through January 4th, 2015. Stay tuned to the park's official website later in the year for more information on the event for more dates and times.
