Scott And Carol Present - A Look at the New Kentucky Kingdom

Here is the latest iteration of Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane bay. For this year, much of the improvements involve getting wet in your swimsuit. With the Grand Opening projected for Memorial Day Weekend, park guests will be wetter than wet in 2014.

Lightning Run has been topped off and thrill seekers will be pouring into Kentucky Kingdom despite the "storm warnings." Still lots of work to be done, but the heavy lifting is complete.

The transfer track is still yet to be installed, but the...

airtime hill and the rest of the turns are good to go! The only question is whether there will be strobes flashing to simulate lightning upon dispatch.

This colorful slide complex will offer riders their choice of wet thrills. Tunnels and funnels and bowls, oh my! No word yet on height requirements for the various options.

The trough for Adventure River is nearly ready for landscaping, the tree in the middle adds a nice touch, don't you think? The worker gives a sense of the scale of the attraction and you can see another slide tower being erected a ways behind tree.

The Dutch Shoes are ready, are you? This mild family ride is a favorite across generations and many new fans will emerge after May 24, 2014.

One of the most ornately decorated flyers in recent memory will open with the park on Memorial Day Weekend. Named Professor John's Flying Machines, guests will do their best to soar through the sky like pilots who land at Standiford Field.
Our thanks to Kentucky Kingdom for proving these nice photos.
