Photos Of The Finished Prater Turm

The Funtime Group has released photos of the recently opened Prater Turm (Prater Tower) at The Prater, located in Vienna, Austria. The StarFlyer stands an amazing 117 meters (383.86 ft.) tall at its peak - which happens to be a decorative clock.

As for the ride that Prater Turm gives, well, let's just say that I want to take a spin on it very badly. I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

What Time Is It?

The new StarFlyer at Wiener Prater in Vienna has been completed and is now testing. The ride is now adorned with a custom gold clock crown that tops out at 360 ft. Riders will swing out at 311 ft. above the ground.

And, with a clock that tall and that large, everyone in the park shall forever know what time it is. Ha!

Impressive New Star Flyer at The Prater

I have to admit that stared at these photos for a few moments before my brain caught up with my eyes - that ride is tall, really tall!

The Prater, located in Vienna, Austria, is home to a new Star Flyer ride from the Funtime Group. When completed, the ride will stand 360 ft. tall. While not installed quiet yet, the top piece will be themed as a clock. Riders will swing at the 311 ft. level, at over 40 m.p.h. Bet your local playground swings didn't offer that!

Interestingly, I believe Prater was the debut location of the Star Flyer back in 2004. That tower was only just over 200 ft. tall though. Tiny compared to this!

I believe some modifications are being made to the original Star Flyer to differentiate the two. Not sure exactly what, though.

For more information on the Star Flyer rides, check out Funtime's site.

Aerial Antics: Wiener Prater

Wiener Prater is an amusement park located in Vienna, Austria. It's almost a Coney Island type set up where many vendors share the area and each attraction is pay as you go.

This makes for some great competition between operators to have the newest, coolest, baddest rides though, which is pretty great. Just check out the rides page on their website to see the variety of what's offered on property.
Here's an interesting coaster, it's a custom Vekoma ride called Megablitz that was added back in 1994. Lots of track packed in a small space on that one. Also the blue tower in the bottom left of the image is a Starflyer - which is something I'd love to ride.
Here is the Hochschaubahn - this is really a scenic railway at heart, opened back in 1950. The side friction wooden coaster actually has brakemen on the back of the trains to control the speed!

And here's two more attractions - like Volare, a Zamperla flying roller coaster painted in bright red and yellow. The park also has a Vekoma Boomerang as well.

The unique water ride on the left is Wildalpenbahn. The River Splash was created by ABC Rides and has a vertical lift hill and sections in a flume like a water slide and parts that are in a river, like a more tradition river rapids.
