Legoland Florida Celebrates the LEGO Movie with Special Weekend

The first ever full length film based on Lego characters, The LEGO Movie, will be celebrated at Legoland Florida for an entire weekend February 8th and 9th.  The LEGO Movie opens at theaters on February 7th, and to honor the film's premier the park will host a party that features special movie themed activities.

Of the many activities the park will hold, the LEGO Movie Scavenger Hunt sounds like a blast.  Held in Miniland USA, the characters from the film have become lost in the area, and guests are invited to find them - and they can even submit an entry to win a LEGO prize pack.

A LEGO Movie Video Game Challenge will be held in the Warner Bros. Games Zone, and a Build Your Own World Competition will take place and be judged by one of the park's Master Model Builders.

A giant mural will also be built to celebrate the movie, taking place in the park's Imagination Zone.  When complete, the mural will be a giant movie poster for the film.  Plus, guests can meet both Emmet and Wyldstyle, have their photo taken with them, and walk the red carpet.

“The LEGO Movie,” from Warner Bros. Pictures, Village Roadshow Pictures and LEGO System A/S, opens in theaters on February 7, 2014.  The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world.  He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.
