Big Thunder Mountain Ready to Reopen at Disneyland

Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland has been closed for a long time for a total refurbishment that included a full track replacement among other work.  The ride is finally ready to reopen to the public, and is currently offering some previews to media and other guests.

Mouse Planet filmed the attraction, embedded above, which shows off the like-new condition of the experience.  There's also a neat set of new special effects that have been added to the final lift.  Being called the new "explosive" finale, the tunnel is lined with dynamite fuses that are quickly heading toward a pile of ready-to-blast explosives.  It certainly gives an unexpected surprise to guests who've been familiar with the ride for decades now.

The grand reopening of Big Thunder Mountain will be March 17th, but Annual Pass holders will start previews on the 13th.
