An interesting event has been planned at Indiana's Mounds State Park, scheduled for Saturday, March 22nd.  The park was once the home of an amusement park, and as part of a geocaching event visitors can learn more about the park's amusing past.

"Unlock clues about Mounds State Park’s amusement park history during its annual geocaching event on Saturday, March 22.

The event’s theme is “The Amusing Side of Mounds,” and participants will be led on a GPS scavenger hunt to sites where a carousel, rollercoaster, dance hall, skating rink, and more once stood.  Geocachers will then solve puzzles to discover more about the former attractions.

From 1897 to 1929, what is now Mounds State Park was an amusement park."

Registration begins at 10 a.m. and a limited number of GPS units are available to borrow.  A $2 event fee applies to participants, and there will be a communal lunch with prizes awards.
