Unique Events, Celebrations and More Highlight Disney's Limited Time Magic

Creating a three story, 45,000 pound ice castle in the middle of Times Square is one way to get your point across, and that's just what Disney Parks did today to announce their new Limited Time Magic promotion.

The new program will feature 52 different special events held at Disney Theme Parks, one for each week of the year.  Each one will last one week only, and will promptly end and be replaced with a new event - hence the limited time aspect.

"Imagine an Independence Day celebration – only it lasts an entire week.  Main Street mainstays the Dapper Dans rocking out with boy band hits in barbershop style… a Friday the 13th dance party with Disney villains that lasts to the 13th hour….a Valentine’s Day in 2013 that becomes Valentine’s Week with Disney castles blushing pink, surprise meet-and-greets with Disney princes and princesses, and candlelit dinners for couples in love."

Sounds like a cute idea, and it is certainly something that the park's annual pass holders will love.  With a new event each week there will always be something new to check out.  The press release lists other examples such as an over-the-top love celebration for Valentine's with castles bathed in pink, and Long Lost Friends Week, where less popular Disney characters will be the focus.

Some events are more unique than others, such as the return of the Golden Horseshoe Revue at Disneyland for one month only, or the famous Dapper Dans singing popular boy band songs.  Rides aren't featured much in the press release, but I will be interested to see how they incorporate them into the program.
