Hawaiian Falls Starts Work on Torpedo Slides

The three Hawaiian Falls water parks in Texas have all started construction on their new Torpedo slides, according to the park.

The Torpedo will feature two speed slides coming off a 4 story tower. Riders will step into a capsule at the top, after which a hatch under their feet will open, launching them down the slide. Two riders will be simultaneously launched down at 40 m.p.h. in a race to the finish line.

All three rides are scheduled for a Memorial Day weekend opening, and represent a $2.6 million investment in the parks. More construction photos are available on the park's Facebook page.
