New Cedar Fair CEO Visits Knott's

Many of the parks in Cedar Fair's portfolio have historical significance, each in their own way.  One of those parks with a special amount of significance, at least in this writer's opinion, is Knott's Berry Farm.

Billed as the "America's First Theme Park," with that slogan plastered at the main entrance gates, the park has been a Southern California staple since 1940.  Many of its rides and attractions are one of a kind, though many fans of the park have been somewhat less than enthused with Cedar Fair's past decade of additions.

The winds of change have blown and now the company will be led by Matt Ouimet, who as we know comes from a solid Disney Parks background.  What could this mean for the future of Knott's - something we've all been wondering.

The Orange County Register got a chance to speak with Mr. Ouimet about the park, and things sound promising.  He called it a "jewel" in the company's chain of parks, also noting that it has a lot of potential.  He also noted that the history of the park is one of it's greatest strengths, and must be preserved.

Music to my ears!  Check out the full article.
