January 2011 NewsPlusNotes Poll Results

I can't say I disagree with the winner of NewsPlusNotes' January 2011 poll, which was the new Great Coasters International wooden coaster at China's Knight Valley.  There were a lot of interesting rides listed as choices for your favorite new coaster for 2011 outside of the U.S., but the Knight Valley ride ended up gathering 34% of the total votes.

It wasn't a landslide victory, though, as Raptor at Gardaland came in second with 29% of the vote.  The B&M coaster with a new train design is understandably being highly anticipated by ride fans.

While just starting construction, the racing wooden coasters being designed by the Gravity Group for Happy Valley, also in China, came in third.  The rides will feature the amazing 'high five' element that's a first of its kind in the world.

We've recently featured some shots of Heide Park's Krake here on NPN, as the ride is now completed and standing tall.  That drop into the gaping mouth of a sea creature got the ride into the 4th position.

Look for the new poll coming soon!
