Cleaning House For Snoopy

Cedar Fair has listed a bunch of kiddie rides at Dorney Park and Valleyfair on ITAL for sale, a sort of house cleaning before the large new Planet Snoopy areas open at both parks next year.  Dorney Park has six rides listed that I see, and Valleyfair has two.

The rides that are now for sale at Dorney Park make up almost all of the remaining Tot Spot in the lower area of the park, marked above with red dots.  Five circle rides, Antique Cars, Dune Buggies, Mini-Jet, Space Age, and the Kiddie Merry-Go-Round are listed, and so is the park's original kiddie coaster, Steel First.  Dorney's Balloon Race is also listed, though we previously knew that was leaving.

The rides were spared when the original Camp Snoopy joined the park, but with next year's Planet Snoopy expansion it looks like their time has come.  I'd a little saddened that Steel First is leaving as it was one of my first coasters!  Steel First is an Allan Herschell Big Dipper coaster - a model that's slowly becoming extinct.

I do not see the park's Dragon Coaster listed, which is also located down there.  I don't know if that means it is staying, or if it just wasn't worth selling, or if it is already sold or being moved.  This also makes the area around Laser's vacant lot even more appealing (and open) for future redevelopment!

Valleyfair's two rides are also currently located where the park's new Planet Snoopy will take over.  The two listed are the Lil' Guppies and Busy Boats - oddly I know for sure that the Lil' Guppies came from Dorney Park some years ago, but I can't recall if the boats did, too.

Even the rides need end of tenancy cleaning sometimes.
