Scott And Carol Present - Dollywood's Latest Addition

We had the opportunity to visit Dollywood this past weekend and while these guys are part of this year's new additions.

Once we forced ourselves to stop riding Thunderhead & Mystery Mine, we trekked on down the Wilderness Pass toward the Tennessee Tornado.

On the way we passed by the construction site for Dollywood's 2010 $5 million project, Adventure Mountain.

The two-acre outdoor terrain addition features three different courses to challenge the strength and skill of every member of the family. Each course, ranging from easy to expert, features different elements that are a few inches above ground to more than 26 feet in the air.

Guests will encounter many obstacles, rugged rope trails, net ladders, swinging bridges, and moving beams. Adventurers can engage in individual pursuits or family competitions.

And, rugged mountaineers can tackle a variety of nature’s challenges to test their skill and agility, while young tenderfoots can explore Camp Teachittoomee located at the base of Adventure Mountain.

Adventure Mountain celebrates the great outdoors and natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which marks its 75th anniversary in 2009.

Located just down the road and up the hill from Dollywood, The Smoky Mountain National Park is the most-visited National Park in the country, welcoming more than 10 million guests annually.

The Wilderness Path area is shaping up nicely and the addition of Adventure Mountain will definitely improve the landscape in 2010.
