Hersheypark Readies Laff Trakk for Summer Grand Opening + Photos From Inside

The U.S.' first "Glow Coaster" is nearing structural completion at Pennsylvania's Hersheypark, as seen in these recent photos released by the theme park.  The new roller coaster takes place entirely indoors and has a fun house theme, which isn't too hard to guest from the theming we can see going up in the images.

The inside of the massive building is being draped in colorful background images, both of words and hypnotic looking drawings.  The entire building will glow in blacklight when the ride is operation, making the already bright images take on an even more fun look.

It appears from this photo that crews have worked from station area backward with the physical coaster instillation, with much of the ride already in place.  The lift hill, over on the left, is complete, and the first drop and the sections below it appears to be all that is left to go in.

This larger image of the ride's lift hill shows the giant Laughing Sal face that cars will head up toward, passing just under it at the crest of the hill.  Laff Trakk's layout is that of a Maurer Xtended SC 2000, which features spinning cars as well.

According to this article about Springtime in the Park, Hersheypark's annual Spring event, Laff Trakk won't be ready until later in the normal operating season.
