EO's Return is Official

Shortly after his passing, rumors of Disneyland bringing back Michael Jackson's Captain EO to the park started swirling. Many thought the D23 Conference would hold an official announcement, but none came.

Fast forward to the present, and it looks like the rumor was true after all! The Disney Parks Blog is now confirming that the 3-D show will play again at the park starting in February, 2010.

The current offering, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, will be removed to bring back Captain EO. There's no word on whether Honey will return once this limited engagement is over, though I'm sure many Disney fans would not complain if it did not.

Captain EO was directed by Francis Ford Coppola with George Lucas as the executive producer, and features a score by James Horner. It starred (obviously) Michael Jackson as well as Anjelica Huston, who played the Witch Queen character.

Let's hope that "Honey I Shrunk The Audience" NEVER returns to Disneyland! And how about bringing back some other former Tomorrowland attractions....ones that never should have been removed in the first place, like the PeopleMover and Adventure Thru Inner Space!
