A Midwest Land of Legos

At least from this article, it would appear as though Merlin Entertainments, the main owner of the 4 Legoland parks currently found around the globe, really wants to have another park located in the American Midwest.

It seems the company is fishing around for tax incentives that would allow them to build a park as part of the large University Town Center development, located in Illinois. If granted, sales tax revenues would be forgiven in order to pay back bonds used to finance the project.

Rumors of Legoland shopping new locations have persisted for years now, and it's obvious that they really want to tap the Midwest market. Projects of this size are complicated to get into existence right now, so we'll have to wait and see how this turns out.
