Six Flags and Cedar Fair Earnings Announcements

Both Six Flags and Cedar Fair just announced their second quarter earnings and well... they're not so good. Looks like the economy has really struck and left these two companies with some disappointing numbers to report.

Cedar Fair reported that through the first six months of the year total attendance at all the parks is down 1 million, and Six Flags reported a loss of 900,000 at the gates over the same period. This resulted is dramatically lower revenues for both companies so far this year. Sadly, it doesn't look like July was much of a help for either company.

We all knew that the parks would probably take a hit this year, but with all the talk of 'staycations' and the like most thought it might not be so bad. Looks like many of the 'staycations' turned into 'nocations.'

Here are links to the full Six Flags and Cedar Fair releases.
