Kings Dominion Expanding WaterWorks for 2015 Season
The 2015 season at Kings Dominion and their WaterWorks water park will be bigger and splashier than ever before after an exciting new expansion.
The park has announced that the 20 acre WaterWorks will see a brand new slide tower, children's play area, and additional cabanas and in-park amenities added in 2015. The park had previously teased, or at least we believed it was a tease, that the water area might be renamed Soak City, however, that has proven to not be the case.

Paradise Plunge starts at 65 feet above the ground, and features three separate slides that begin with a trap door fall into the twisting and speedy body slides. Aqua Blast, a "constrictor" style slide, features extremely tight helices throughout the course. Two additional tube slides, named Thunder Falls, will feature twists, turns, and large final drops into the splash pool.
For children, Splash Island will be added to expand the offerings for smaller WaterWorks guests. According to the park, "little ones can let their imaginations run wild as they get soaked underneath large cascading flowers, take a trip down a slide, or pump and direct water that shoots out from one of the many splash pad creatures."
The park will also renovate rest rooms, add new ones, and expand their cabana facility next to the new slide tower. Kings Dominion is the second Cedar Fair park to announce a water park expansion (Canada's Wonderland was the first) for 2015, and I have a feeling we will see at least one more soon.
