New Super Storm Ride Opens at Casino Pier

New Jersey's Casino Pier has steadily continued to open new rides on its rebuilt seaside pier, after being totally destroyed last Fall during Hurricane Sandy.

The latest ride, Super Storm, is the first of its kind in the U.S. according to the park.  The attraction seats riders on the end of a giant pendulum, which inverts toward the sky and rotates at the same time.  In the photo above you can see that passengers are high above the boardwalk, fully inverted at the same time.

The name of the attraction originally made some people pause, but the park maintains that it is in celebration of overcoming the storm and reopening the park - a positive spin on a horrible storm.

Casino Pier has reopened fifteen rides so far, with a few more planned to be ready for Labor Day weekend.  The rides are clustered on the rebuilt lower section of their pier, with the upper deck not yet finished.  They plan on expanding onto that section for next Summer.
