A Mammoth Announcement From Holiday World

Whats a park to do when they already have the world's longest water coaster? Why, build an even longer one, of course!

Holiday World and Splashin' Safari has announced that Mammoth, the largest single investment in the park's history will be added to Splashin' Safari next year.  The ride is so big that it will actually take the record from the park's Wildebeest water coaster, which opened in 2010, and now be the longest water coaster in the world.

To be located just east of Wildebeest, Mammoth will feature six-person round boats that will traverse the water coaster's 1,763 feet of slide.  Mammoth will utilize HydroMagnetic technology to keep the boats moving uphill along the course.  A 300 foot long conveyor lift hill will get things started, and will be followed by a 53 foot taken at 45 degrees.  The twisting course will feature six drops in total as it snakes across three acres of land in Splashin' Safari.

With 10, 6 passenger boats in use, Mammoth will be able to take over 1,000 riders per hour - very high capacity for a water park attraction.  $9 million will be invested by the park in order to being the ProSlide Technology designed ride to the park.

Holiday World has released several virtual previews of Mammoth along with their announcement, one of which can be seen above.  With yet another record breaking ride being added in 2012, it was also announced that a new family Halloween event - called Holiday World's Happy Halloween Weekends - will take place during the month of October.

Another exciting year for the park, indeed!
