Mach Tower Now Open

Better late than never, as is true with the opening of Busch Gardens Williamsburg's Mach Tower.  The Virginia theme park opened the freefall tower ride this past week, just about three months later than originally planned.

Technical issues that were discovered once the ride began testing caused the delays, but the park assures us that all testing has been completed and everything looks good now.  The ride takes 30 guests up nearly 240 feet before dropping them down.  The passenger ring rotates as it climbs, offering what I'm sure are beautiful views of the surrounding area.

With Mach Tower now open, we can all start to look toward next year, when Busch Gardens will add a highly themed launched coaster to its line-up.  Can't wait!
