Brand New "VR Showdown in Ghost Town" Opening at Knott's Berry Farm in April

Knott's Berry Farm and VRstudios are teaming up to present the first "permanent installation of a free-roaming, multi-player VR experience in a U.S. theme park," which will open at the park in April.  Known as VR Showdown in Ghost Town, the experience will be designed to fit in with the story of Knott's Ghost Town themed area and will be available exclusively at Knott's Berry Farm.

VR Showndown in Ghost Town will be created inside the park's Boardwalk Arcade.  Groups of players will time travel to a futuristic version of Knott's famous town of Calico, where robotic creations are trying to take over.  The teams will have to work together to defend the town through competitive gaming, as they will be armed with virtual reality headsets and "futuristic blasters" to get the job done.  Players will compete for the highest score during the adventure, both individually and as a team, and have goals to complete.

“We are always looking for new and exciting ways to entertain our guests,” said Christian Dieckmann, Cedar Fair’s Vice President of Strategic Growth. “By using a free-roaming system, we can take full advantage of the capabilities of VR and let our guests be the stars of the show. A majority of people have not yet experienced VR, and we anticipate there will be a lot of interest from guests to have their first taste at our park.”

VR Showdown in Ghost Town will have a fee of $6.00 for participants.  To read more, check out the official Knott's website.
