2012 Steel Coaster Poll Results Revealed

Congratulations to Expedition GeForce at Holiday Park (Germany) for taking first place as the world's best steel coaster in the 2012 Steel Roller Coaster Poll.

Expedition GeForce opened in 2001 and was designed by Intamin.  The ride is known for its outrageous airtime, something that makes it quite popular with ride enthusiasts.

Second place with to Bizarro at Six Flags New England, a ride that has topped the poll many times through the years.  A brand new coaster for last year, the New Texas Giant finished an impressive third showing just how popular this modern style of ride is.

Other notable entries includes Hersheypark's Skyrush, which placed 7th.  Many were interested to see if the ride's aggressive restrains would cause it's ranking to plummet.  I'm glad it did not.

Canada's Wonderland's Leviathan, the first B&M to break 300 feet, finished 18th.  Goudurix at France's Parc Asterix finished in last place at #365, showing pretty much everyone's universal dislike for the coaster.

There were just under 550 ballots this year, so if you do not agree with the final results make sure to take part in the poll next year!  You can see the entire results over on the Best Coaster Poll page.
