Disney Dreams Premiers at Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris has really added something special with its new Disney Dreams nighttime show, which combines crystal clear projections on the face of the park's iconic Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant to tell an impressive story of Disney fantasy fun - along with soaring water fountains, fireworks, and additional special effects.

Disney Dreams just premiered as part of the park's 20th anniversary celebration and I finally had time to sit down and watch the whole show, after which I firmly decided the park has a winner on its hands.  Disney parks across the globe should be so lucky to be able to offer guests a treat like this.

The story is led by Peter Pan's shadow, which escapes him and accidentally releases all the magic from the second star to the right, which sits prominently at the top of the castle.  Plenty of classic Disney movies are represented in the action that follows, but the selection of films is not the exact same as we've seen on other recent productions, which is a nice change.

The use of the castle projections - which granted we have seen at other parks - is remarkable.  Highlights include the Genie turning the castle's spires into rockets, only to have them launch into real fireworks, and a Jungle Book scene where the entire structure is a beautiful cascading waterfall.

If you have the time I highly suggest turning down the lights and checking out this video of the show in HD.  Show creator Steve Davison has really outdone himself with Disney Dreams!
