Sesame Street Forest of Fun On Track for Spring

Busch Gardens Williamsburg is on track for opening their new Sesame Street Forest of Fun area this spring. The park has sent out some photos of the new park section under construction as well.

"Construction crews have been pouring cement, raising rafters and making way for the area's new rides and attractions since August 2008. A crew of artists in Florida have been building and painting the elements that will theme the new area."

The new section will feature "four new rides will offering kid-sized versions of popular attractions, including a junior roller coaster designed for parents and children to ride together. The kid-zone also will feature wet and dry playgrounds, a photography studio with Sesame Street's characters and live stage performances."

Here we see Oscar's Whirly Worms, a flat ride that the entire family can enjoy together.
This is the station structure going up for Grover's Alpine Express, a family roller coaster. The ride is a custom designed Zierer family coaster.

And here's a general view of the new area being worked on, the building in the background is Abby Cadabby's Treasure Trove, the sections new gift shop.
