More Diamondback Train Photos

© 2009 Ronny Salerno / KICentral.com

KICentral has added a new photo gallery and video of Diamondback at Kings Island testing. Included are many great photos like the one above of the trains in action.

I must say I really like the look of them with the decals on the front - and I still can't get enough of the fangs!

What's Schlitterbahn Up To Now?

Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort, located in New Braunfels, TX, has something new up their sleeve again for the summer 2009 season.

The park has been hinting at the theme of the new attraction on their blog for a while now, and has now gone as far as to reveal it's name:

They have placed a teaser video on the blog and promise more to come. I wonder if this will be an existing attraction retheme like they did this past summer with Dragon's Revenge. It looks like we will find out soon!

February Poll Results

I'm reluctant to go into much detail on February's NPN poll because it was, sadly, once again spammed by some fool who thought it would be fun to ruin the real results of the poll for everyone.

With that said, I do know for certain that Loch Ness Monster was our winner - it started off strong and continued to get many votes. So congrats to LNM!

As for the spamming, well, Viper at Darien Lake got about 50 votes one day, so cross that off the list, and Tenessee Tornado had the same thing happen - so no thanks there.

I'd say that Vortex at Kings Island was really in second place, and the now departed Drachen Fire, also at Busch Gardens Williams was third.

As always, don't be a doofus and spam our polls, I always notice!

Some Six Flags Parks Open... One Doesn't

Yesterday marked the opening day of the 2009 season for 4 different Six Flags properties: Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Six Flags Over Georgia, and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

Discovery Kingdom will premier their new attraction, Odin's Temple of the Tiger in May, but opened for guests starting yesterday.

Six Flags Georgia was the park that actually didn't open as planned this weekend. The rain and snow combination that hit the park this weekend caused the park to delay their opening to next weekend. Bummer!

Hopefully some photos from the park openings will start to surface soon. Let me know if you have any!

A Buccaneer Update

Six Flags Great America has released a new piece of concept art of the ride vehicles on their new Buccaneer Battle interactive water ride, which is new for 2009.

I must say it looks pretty good. I really hope the theming turns out nice for this one, from what we've seen thus far it will.

The park has been keeping new photos posted on their webpage as well, click here to check those out.

Forest of Fun Opens April 3rd

Busch Gardens, in Williamsburg, VA, has announced that their new Sesame Street Forest of Fun area will open on April 3rd for Spring Break.

The park had a big press construction tour of the site and released some photos from that.

The track for Grover's Alpine Express was recently completed. I like it's screaming pink and green color scheme.

Here's another view of the coaster with the concept art for it's station on display.

The Forest of Fun will open April 3rd, but when the park opens for the season on March 28th guests will be able to enjoy the new Sesame Street dining facility and the new 4-D movie playing in the park's Globe Theatre themed to Sesame Street.
