Islands of Adventure Closing Hulk Coaster for Extended Refurbishment

The Incredible Hulk Coaster at Islands of Adventure will be closed for an extended period for a complete refurbishment, the theme park has announced. Visitors to Islands of Adventure will see Hulk closed from September 8th through "next Summer," meaning the ride will be down for approximately eight to nine months.

That's quite a long time for a major ride to be down, though not unheard of at major year-round theme parks.  Plus, it means a lot of enhancements are on the way for the Incredible Hulk Coaster.

Universal isn't giving away all the details just yet, only saying that enhancements to the ride's "storyline, ride vehicles and overall experience" are on the way.  The blog update from Universal hints that the ride will remain themed to the Incredible Hulk, so that appears to not be changing.

Personally, I'm expecting to see all new theming throughout the queue and station, potentially upgraded trains with on-board audio, and structural replacements to track/supports while the ride is closed.  No changes to the layout, instead upkeep to ensure the ride stays running for a long, long time.
