A Food and Wine Event for a Good Cause

Six Flags Great Adventure had originally scheduled their third annual food and wine festival, named Six Flags Grape Adventure, for this past weekend but hurricane Sandy had other plans for the event.

Now rescheduled for this coming weekend, the 10th and 11th, the event has taken on the challenge of helping those affected by the disaster by donating $1 from each ticket sold to the American Red Cross, as well as serving as a donation station for goods and supplies.

The event features over 150 wines from twelve different wineries paired with unique VIP tours of the park's Safari that is available for purchase.  Food from several local eateries and live music will round out the atmosphere of the festival.  Those who purchase the Safari tours get a unique look at the property, along with a wine tasting on the African section among giraffes.

Tickets are available online for both the tasting and Safari tours, but those who just want to attend and make a donation can do so free of charge.  For those who have lost everything any item is helpful, but specifically non-perhishable food, blankets, new clothing, coats, baby and pet supplies will be collected for Sandy victims.
