Six Flags Great Adventure Gives Sneak Peek of Holiday in the Park Concept Art

Holiday In The Park will start in just over a week from now, on Friday November 21st - this will be the first time that Six Flags Great Adventure will host the celebration.

The park has a ton of activities lined up for the event, including many themed around the holidays and also will have a number of rides open, too.

To get everyone excited for this new (for the park) event, Six Flags Great Adventure released some concept art showing off the magical winter wonderlands that will greet guests.

As visitors approach the park, the outer mall that leads to the ticket gates will be awash with green and red lighting with a touch of lights strung on the buildings.

Once past the turnstiles the full effect of Holiday In The Park can be seen, with holiday lighting adorning the buildings and in all the trees.  This section of the park will be known as Main Street Christmas, fitting since it is the main street themed section of the park.  At the end of the promenade is a giant holiday tree, which ever 30 minutes features lights choreographed to holiday music.

To the right of Main Street Christmas is Joy To The World, a peacefully lit area filed with luminaries and stained glass representations of holidays from around the world.  This path will lead to the park's Showcase Theater...

... which will also be decked out for the Holidays, as seen above.  The theater will be presenting "Jack Frost's Magical Christmas," which is described as having the nasty Jack Frost's plan to ruin Christmas reversed by the "warmth and magic of the holiday season."

Next we find a transformed Movietown, which will be known as Holiday Memories during Holiday In The Park.  The area will have another large tree, known as the Wishing Tree, where guests can help deserving families' holiday wishes come true.  The area will also feature live entertainment with the Jingle Jammers and both Batman The Ride and The Dark Knight coasters will be open.

Whimsical Wonderland is the home to many of the park's children's rides, more than ten of them will be open for the event.  It is also where Mrs. Clause - described by the park as the "real boss" of the toy workshop - will have a storytime with little visitors.  Nitro, one of the park's signature roller coasters will also be open.  As with all outdoor rides, however, their operation is dependent on both the temperature and weather.

Poinsettia Peak will be (fittingly) decked out in red colors and poinsettias everywhere.  The big attraction of the area is also named Poinsettia Peak, which is the indoor Skull Mountain roller coaster with a holiday makeover.  The Holly Jolly Roger and Fender Bender flat rides will also operate during Holiday In The Park.

Polar  Point looks like an especially beautiful area, with blue colors and giant icicles hanging from the trees.  In addition to the beautiful setting, the Big Wheel, SkyScreamer and Air Jumbo will also operate.

Heading back to Main Street Christmas, if visitors turn left instead of right they will enter Gingerbread Junction, home to a highly decorated Carousel and Yum Yum Cafe.  Thrill seekers can also test out the Daredevil Dive, experience the mystery of Houdini's Great Escape, and spin as much as they like on the renamed tea cups - called Gingerbread Twist.

The next section is normally the Boardwalk area, but will be known as Snowman City during this event. The area will have a special holiday themed game and also a 3 story tall inflatable snowman that guests can walk under to get to our final themed area.

That final area is Treetop Summit, which features a giant 240 foot tall holiday tree, created by stringing lights onto the Parachute Tower.  Superman - Ultimate Flight, The Green Lantern, Twister, the park's go-karts and Slingshot will also operate in this area.

Six Flags Great Adventure has a full website now available for the event with more details than what I've presented here - click here to visit it!
