Mammoth Thrilling Riders at Holiday World and Splashin' Safari

Guests to Indiana's Holiday World and Splashin' Safari are having a blast, quite literally, on the park's new Mammoth water coaster, the longest of its kind in the world.

The park forwarded some photos of the ride in operation, showing off just how much fun guests are having while traveling the 1,763 feet of the massive, 12 foot wide slide.

One of the coolest qualities of Mammoth (there are many!) is the fact that guests can choose which style of raft they sit in.  Above we see the 6 passenger round boat, but there is also an 8 seater version where guests sit facing forward, much like a traditional boat.

Here we see another of the rafts being literally launched up one of Mammoth's hills.  The water coaster uses hydromagnetic linear induction motors to keep things moving at a quick pace.  This allows larger than average drops and hills, creating a true coaster-like experience, including air-time and tunnels!

Holiday World has also released a video of Park President Dan Koch taking a couple test spins on Mammoth!

Mammoth opened to the public May 11th, and was provided by ProSlide Technology of Ontario, Canada.
