Dollywood's Splash Country Announces New Slide Tower for 2017

An all-new mat racing water slide tower named TailSpin Racer will open in 2017 at Dollywood's Splash Country, the park has announced.

The $2 million addition will be located near the park's entrance adjacent to the Big River Pavilion.

“TailSpin Racer is an exciting addition to the park that we know our guests are going to love,” explained Dollywood’s Splash Country General Manager Mike Brown. “We always seek to add slides and attractions which will leave our guests with big smiles and memories to share. I think we’ll see a lot of fun as families and friends challenge each other to races down this great new slide.”

The water park knows that the addition of TailSpin Racer is a sure-bet because they already operate a similar 4-lane mat racing slide, named Slick Rock Racer.  However, the new addition is larger and will handle six racers per slide cycle, providing plenty of extra capacity.  Additionally, the new tower features a different start to the experience where riders "descend a daring first drop inside intertwined, high-speed AquaTubes."

After the initial enclosed section riders burst out into an open-air downhill race to the finish line.  TailSpin Racer's slides will stretch longer than a football field and the structure will stand five stories above the park.

Splash Country is located adjacent to both the Dollywood theme park and the recently opened DreamMore Resort.
