Major New Details of Reign of Kong Released by Universal Orlando

U.S.A. Today has posted a great story on Islands of Adventure's soon to be opened new attraction, Skull Island: Reign of Kong.  While we've had some tidbits released about the inside of the new attraction already, this story is by far filled with the most detail yet and ten new photographs of both the inside and outside the attraction.

I've only included two of them here that do not reveal too much, since many folks are waiting to experience the ride for themselves.  Above is the outside of the ride building, where the ride vehicles will enter through those massive doors.

The ride will utilize the exploration vehicles seen here, seating 72 riders at a time (should provide nice capacity to keep the line moving!).  Each of the vehicles has its own unique driver (live or animatronic I'm not sure) so there will be 5 different hosts for the experience.  The article does tell a decent amount of the ride's storyline, which is set in the 1930's.  I won't repeat all that here, but it sounds like there will be plenty of thrills both in the queue (live scare-actors confirmed) and inside the show building, which of course ends with a 30 foot Kong just 8 feet from the ride vehicle.

The only big item we're still missing for Skull Island: Reign of Kong is the grand opening date - I'm sure that will be coming along very soon as the Summer season rolls in.

Here's a link to the U.S.A. Today story with all the goodies.
