Lake Compounce Unleashes New for 2016 Phobia Phear Coaster

This past weekend was the grand opening of Lake Compounce's new high-intensity launched steel roller coaster, Phobia Phear Coaster.  Playing off the ride's name, the park invited 12 lucky guests who had declared their fears via the park's social media pages to be the first to ride.

And that was no small challenge for some of them, as Phobia Phear Coaster features an inversion at 150 feet in the air and speeds of up to 62 miles per hour!

This aerial image nicely shows Phobia in its new home, with bright orange track set against a web of purple supports.  The new coaster has several close neighbors and was tucked in between the park's dark ride and several other flat rides.

Riders aboard Phobia first experience three launches, two forward and one backward, to get the trains up to the very top of the tower.  That is where a slow heartline roll takes place 150 feet above the ground below.  Another vertical plunge and a non-inverting loop finish off the exhilarating experience.

Are you all set for your ride on Phobia?  The park released a brand new point of view video of the experience, below, that you can check out before you make it to the park.

Congratulations to the park for their successful ride opening, the ride looks like it will surely be a hit this summer!
