Highly Renovated Fiesta Bay Boardwalk to Greet Visitors at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in 2016

The boardwalk has always been a great place to hang out in the Summer, never more true next year at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.  The park has announced a major renovation to the Fiesta Bay Boardwalk themed section for 2016, including three new thrill rides.

“The entire Fiesta Bay Boardwalk area at Fiesta Texas will undergo a spectacular transformation in 2016. The three incredible new attractions will bring completely new types of thrills for our guests, as will our new culinary and interactive games offerings,” said Park President Neal Thurman. “The new Boardwalk will have all the excitement and ambiance of a favorite seaside getaway.”

The renovations will see the removal of three of the park's existing attractions, a spinning pendulum ride, a swinging ship and a circular children's ride.

The first of the new rides is a Larson Giant Loop name Fireball.  The seven story tall ride will feature a train that loops around both forwards and backwards, stopping at the top at one point in the cycle to completely invert riders.  Similar attractions opened at a handful of Six Flags parks in 2015, and must have been well received as several more are going in across the country next year.

As seen in this concept art release by Six Flags Fiesta Texas, the Fireball will have some unique hot rod theming on the train.  A nice touch, along with flames running on the top and bottom of the structure.

Hurricane Force 5 will be the second newly added ride, one of Zamperla's ever-popular Disk'O rides.  Seated on outward facing motorcycle style seats, 24 riders per cycle will spin around on the giant disk as it moves up and down the curved track.  A dizzying experience, Hurricane Force 5 will be a hit with families as it has a 48 inch height requirement.  (Fireball does as well, for the record)

Finally we have Spinsanity, a modern version of the classic Tilt-a-whirl ride that has been found at amusement parks for decades.  The ride will feature updated passenger vehicles, like those seen above, that provide clear views all around during the spinning.

The new rides aren't all that is coming to Fiesta Bay Boardwalk, as the entire area is receiving upgrades top to bottom.  The section's wood plank boardwalk will be replaced, all facades updated and repainted and additional food and games will be built.  The popular Scooby-Doo Ghostblasters ride, already a staple attraction on the Boardwalk, will receive a new high-efficiency loading platform to cut down on wait times.

Needless to say the Boardwalk area will look stunning next year and we're looking forward to seeing the final results.
