Phobia Phear Coaster Opening at Lake Compounce in 2016

Lake Compounce is planning to send terror through riders on the park's new for 2016 roller coaster in more ways than one.  Named Phobia Phear Coaster, the 150 foot tall magnetic launch coaster will "address many popular phobias with the ride design and theming, including the fear of heights, speed, enclosed spaces, and of course the fear of rollercoasters."

Phobia will be manufactured by Premier Rides and is one of their Sky Rocket II models.  The coaster features three LSM launches to get the train up to 150 feet in the air before it completes a heartline twist.  The ride will reach speeds of 65 miles per hour during the rest of the 863 foot long ride, including vertical twists and a giant non-inverting loop.

Lake Compounce has spent the last decade adding attractions that appeal to the whole family, but thought it was time for a thrill ride in 2016.  Phobia Phear Coaster will be the park's largest single investment in its history.

Jim Seay, President of Premier Rides said that his company “is extremely honored to have been selected by Lake Compounce to design and produce such an amazing roller coaster.  Phobia Phear Coaster will incorporate our newest technologies including our most advanced magnetic launch system and a highly innovative power modulation system that represents cutting-edge green technology."

Lake Compounce promises more details on the ride's theming and other elements in the future - but for now here's a teaser video that has been released.
