Famous Spooky Ghoul Reappearing in Disneyland's Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland in California will be debuting the reappearance of one of its most famous inhabitants this May, the park has announced.  The Hatbox Ghost was a part of the original Haunted Mansion experience when it first opened in 1969, but was removed shortly thereafter.

The character has become a legend among Disney park fans, and will be reintroduced (I should say he will materialize once more) as part of the park's 60th Anniversary celebration.

The park released this teaser concept art, showing the Hatbox Ghost in the shadows, lit only by eerie light behind him.  The original figure was of a fancifully dressed, slightly hunched over older man, who's face would disappear from his head, only to reappear in the large hatbox he was holding.  The reason for his removal appears to be due to not being able to get the trick up to Disney standards, at least if the character's Wiki page is correct.

Fans have long wished for the Hatbox Ghost to return, and now it is coming true!  These little improvements, like the recently announced changes to Peter Pan's Flight and the Matterhorn, are going to really make Disneyland shine for it's special anniversary.
