New Theme for Disney California Adventure's Condor Flats Revealed

And the new theme is TREES!  Well, only sort of.  Condor Flats, a small themed area at Disney California Adventure that contains Soarin' Over California, will become the Grizzly Peak Airfield in stages during 2015.

Condor Flats was an area of the park that was not touched much during the huge makeover the park experienced, and it still needed some attention.  If you haven't been to the park, this image will help you to understand why - it's not quite up to par.  The new area will have a high sierras feel, with lots of pine trees, new theming and plenty of green paint (think Camp Snoopy at Knott's, to a degree).

When completed, this is how the outside of Soarin' Over California will appear, reference this shot to see how it currently stands.  The changes are decidedly dramatic.  The new look is much more sophisticated, and easier on the eye.  The first part of the new area will open in a week or so, and that's the new Smokejumpers Grill, which was once Taste Pilots Grill.  Compare the concept art on Disney's blog to this - again this is a major upgrade.  Looking forward to the finished product - and the rumored update to the Soarin' film!
