The Latest Wicked Cyclone Construction Photos

Most parks in the Northeast are now in 'quiet mode' for the rest of the fall and winter, but there's plenty of activity still underway at Six Flags New England.  The park has continued work on the transformation of the Cyclone into Wicked Cyclone, giving it a twisted Rocky Mountain makeover.

After completing the ride's lift and first drop, the park needed to remove quite a bit of old structure to put the ride's over bank turn into place.  Once that work was completed the steel frame for the turn was installed, showing just how intense the final product would look.  SFNE Online has an update from the park's final weekend showing that progress, located here.

In the days that have followed, the park was able to add the track to those supports, revealing the finished product.  All I have to say is wow - the turn after the initial drop is going to be one intense experience from the look of it!  Check out the recent photos of the completed element here.

There is still plenty of work to be done on the rest of the ride, including the "first of its kind" 200 degree inverted stall.  In the end there will be a lot of "big ride" elements in a smaller package, something that makes this project even more exciting.
